Ahead of the premiere of “Paris Perfect” later this week, star François Sagat sat down with us exclusively on how the industry has changed, how he’s changed with it, his favorite co-stars, and his hottest scenes ever.
François Sagat. It’s almost impossible to say the name without “ooh la la” coming to mind with the heaviest of sexual undertones.
Few performers have such an accomplished filmography. Even fewer are able to take a self-imposed hiatus for five years only return to the blue screen to legions of grateful fans around the globe. And looking hotter than ever.
“Paris Perfect” was the perfect movie at the perfect time. It also allowed us a chance to sit down with the man himself on gay porn’s past, present, and future as well what, and who, he considers some of the highlights of his career.
The Sword: François, thank you for your time. Speaking of time, after a decade in the business, what has been the most remarkable change from working today as to when you started?
François Sagat: Enchanté, Harlan and thank you as well. I must admit I’m a little bit disoriented by all those new scripts added to the sex scenes … lol. I was always used to just do the sex and barely speak. Since I started again, Men, CockyBoys and NakedSword, bitches (lol) are making it more complicated!!! LINES! Script! Stories!
I’m more a performer than an actor in my opinion. It’s challenging.
Then, talking about the industry, of course, everything has changed. In our world of today, the contradiction is that we are SWIMMING with lots of porn of all kinds!!!
The main thing is not the way the industry has changed, but how I must adapt to it!
You took a break from porn for a while and dove into the Parisian art scene, how was that?
It was interesting, but the reality is … most of the art project or things that make a good “image” don’t make money.
I’m gonna be really straight to the point with you, I took a break because I was fed up with myself. But porn made me … and I love sex and showing it to the camera, even if sometimes it’s more “work/work” than passionate. That all depends on the partner, the director, the locations all at the same time.
I simply missed it. And was highly encouraged by people and fans to be in front of the camera again. I don’t feel young but not that old to perform again.
Your fans are very glad you came back to porn. What made you want to come back? What was your most memorable shoot from all the films you’ve done with Raging Stallion, Falcon Studios, and now NakedSword?
Of course, I loved being on set with Erik Rhodes for “Ringside” for Falcon, great memories. Also loved my scene “Bedroom Eyes” with Kyle Lewis for Raging Stallion. It was the perfect versatile sex scene and we were really into each other. Not to forget my duet with Remy DeLaine in the boxing ring from “Manefesto”. And of course my first hit, “Arabesque”.
If people could only see one François Sagat scene, which one would you tell them to watch?
“Breathless” by TitanMen. My favorite scene is with Ted Colunga and Julian Vicenzo. However, I still haven’t watched my finished scene from “Paris Perfect with Johnny V. So I quite possibly will have a tie next time I am asked this.
Out of all your scene partners, which ones would you love to be with again on set or in your bedroom?
Dato Foland, Marco Blaze, Paddy O’Brian, Spencer Reed, Johnny V, Diego Reyes …
Fans think they know you. But what is it about you that you wish they knew.
I’m a sissy, I’m sassy. I got many complaints when I wear a wig and lipstick! Seems like fans get disoriented? Come on!
What’s left on your porn bucket list you haven’t crossed off yet?
Straight and sex with a trans man.
Your single biggest turn on is … ?
Rimming.
Last question, “Paris Perfect” is as much a film in the Peter Seller French farce tradition as it is a porn movie. Did that add extra excitement to the sex scenes and visa versa?
A sex scene is a lot of energy, it’s DRAINING. So, if the director knows his or her schedule and starts with this or that in a very structured way: I’m ready for every style of project.
I’m more up to start with the SEX, wrapping it up on time; and then putting this other creative energy on the script and stories. We are still shooting a porn, so let’s be focused on the sex first. In “Paris Perfect”, doing the ‘sex first’ part was easy, and hot, becuase I was with Johnny V.”
Francois and his scene with Johnny V will debut a week from this Wednesday on November 22 while “Paris Perfect” will splash onto the blue screen the day after tomorrow, on Wednesday, November 15th.
We’ll see you back here in a couple of days for the “Paris Perfect” premiere.
