Gay Porn News: Cobra Video Owner Murdered

bryan_kocis_brent_corrigan.jpgThe charred remains of Bryan Charles Kocis were identified by Pennsylvania authorities earlier today and a formal murder investigation has begun. An autopsy revealed that he was stabbed to death. They believe that his house was intentionally set on fire to cover up the murder and his remains had to be identified by dental records, several PA newspapers are reporting.

No formal suspects have been named, but Citizen’s Voice is reporting that police have questioned three California men he was involved in a “business dispute” with, one of which presumably is Sean Lockhart.

Kocis, 44, was best known for his complicated ongoing legal battle with Lockhart, better known as gay porn star Brent Corrigan, 21. Jason Curious is reporting that the two were seen hugging at Krave in Las Vegas earlier this month and that they had finally reached a settlement to their legal dispute that would have involved them working together again.Kocis, was the owner of Cobra Video, a popular bareback twink studio; he directed and produced all their films. Cobra and Kocis were thrust in the spotlight in 2005 when Lockhart/Corrigan announced that he was underage when he filmed Every Poolboy’s Dream a year earlier. When I interviewed him, Lockhart told me Kocis gave him a car for filming Poolboy, and speculated that Kocis has made well over $1 million from it.

Copies of the movie were promptly pulled off shelves after Lockhart’s disclosure. Lockhart later alleged that he was romantically involved with Kocis at the time of the filming and that Kocis was well aware that he was underage. Kocis claimed claimed to have proof on file showing Lockhart was legal at time the time of shooting.

fuck_me_raw_brent_corrigan.jpgKocis responded by suing Lockhart for trademark violation for use of the name “Brent Corrigan”, contract violation and a few other charges, much to the chagrin of Lockhart who often railed against Kocis and Cobra on his blog and to the press, and even held a web cam fundraiser to pay for his mounting legal fees. To avoid a legal entanglement with Kocis, Falcon Studios called Lockhart “Fox Ryder” in Velvet Mafia. Cobra continued to release movies featuring Lockhart as recently as August 2006, when they released Take It Like A Bitch Boy and Fuck, Me Raw, which featured Corrigan on the cover with a drop of cum poorly photoshopped to appear if it was dripping out of his ass.

Although Kocis never faced child pornography charges for producing Every Poolboy’s Dream, he was charged with it in 2002, when police found a videotape of Kocis having sex with a 15 year old boy. He pled guilty to sexual abuse of a child and was sentenced to one year probation.

    First post!

Wow, first a gay-for-pay shoots his gay boss, and now a twink is being suspected for stabbing and burning his lover/ex-lover. Both cases are indeed very, very unfortunate, but at the same time, ironic that ‘gay’ men could be this dramatic.

You moron, what “dramatic” are you talking about…?! This wasn’t about love at all, it was just about money and business

well, it says he was a convicted child molester, so why should anyone even care?

People be caregul of how you throw around accusations. There is no indication that Brent Carrigan had anything to do with this, so please do not imply that. My heart goes out for Mr. Kocis and his family and i hope the culprits are caught. It appears to me wherever sex, drugs and money collide- death is sure to follow. As i said people lets not rush to judgement, Mr. Kocis could have been involved with numerous dubious characters who would have wanted to hurt him.

I suspect that his business likely involved a lot of work with street hustlers, and its likely that an ‘interview’ or even a shoot got out of hand and the young men he was exploiting turned on him.

    Just a theory.

Be careful when you throw around the term child molester. Bryan was convicted, yes but the young man admitted under oath that the sex was consentual and that he lied about his age to Bryan before they ever met.

Good, glad to have another one off the planet.

I had sex at 15, and I was NOT a CHILD. Sorry, unless the guy is retarded, he knows if he wants sex at 15. When I think of a “child molester” I think of someone who has sex with little kids.

I find it funny you guys seem to want Brent Corrigan just as much as Kocis did. ;)

Oh wait, he’s legal now, so your lust is justified.

Actually, Jason Curious is reporting that they were RUMORED to have hugged.
The guy was a bareback porn producing kiddie-phile. You guys don’t think he might have had more than one enemy?

Well, technically he settled the “child molestation” charges and was not requried to even register as a sex offender. And technically, he’s not a pedophile, he’s an ephebophile (since he liked ’em post-puberty). And technically, he may not have done anything wrong with the kid who admitted he was not yet 18, as the age of consent in PA is 16… oh wait, only if it’s between a guy and a girl. Two guys means he has to be 18. Both of ’em. But I digress.

But he did “do his time” as they say, having been on probation for 2 or 3 years. Why is it that nobody ever wants to think somebody made a mistake, paid the price, and moved on? To screwing (pun intended) other young men, like Brent C. Who then screwed him by lying about his (Brent’s) age, making a bunch of movies and a ton of money for Kocis.

Now, of course, the question is whether or not the Cobra movies will continue to be sold, who owns them now, and will they ever catch whoever stabbed Kocis? Or will this just be another hot plot to see Chris Meloni show his disgust/angst?

    Stay tuned, pornophiles.

Lukey, It doesn’t matter if “he knows he wants sex at 15”, Kocis wasn’t 15 and knew it was wrong. A 15 year old is not old enough to understand all of the ramifications of engaging in adult sexual behavior. That’s one of the reasons it’s ILLEGAL!!!

For people reading a gay porn blog, some posters are certainly into vigilante justice of the most extreme sort.

Even if the guy did have sex with a 15- year-old, did he *deserve* to be murdered? I don’t think so.

There are plenty of people around who think that having sex with another man of any age is grounds for murder — Think of the gunning down of six men at the Ramrod Bar in the 2980s or maybe nineties. And Matthew Shepherd. And hundreds of others, all over the country (and world.)

Some awfully self-righteous people seem to be reading and posting here.

Well to me this is just a little scary.
I have a feeling that the culprit could be a derranged fan of Brent’s,and he did this to show his undying love for Brent. If you ever read his blog you can see that he has some pretty “devoted” fans. All the old posts that referred to Brian on his blog have all but been removed for the most part. Maybe it’s just me but this seems to be the case.I have a bad feeling about this and I really think that Grant and Brent should be very careful when they are out and about. It seems from the reports on the case that Brian was getting more and more parinoid I think he was afraid for his life. and being in the business he was in he could have just been a sitting duck to a crazy pretending to be a model on a mission of revenge. yeah I know this sound like a good plot to a movie (Art imatating life) but I just say all involved should be careful.

Duke, I knew what I was doing at 15. I was the one who made the moves on an “adult” I came across at a camp ground. I sucked him, and he sucked me. I prefered older men (still do) and I chose to have sex with the guy. I am grateful he was turned on by me. It’s illegal in to have sex in the USA because people there are prudish and crazy about trying to control people who engage in acts that the majority disagree with. The sex and drug laws in the USA are insane. It’s all about punishing people who the majority do not agree with.

    Lukey,

First, I will certainly concede that that most of the US’s social and legislative outlook is based in its puritanical roots and unfortunately that background continues to inform a lot of US policy. The US’s catalog of hangups notwithstanding your statements read like quasi-Libertarian bullshit!

If you’re 15 and you diddle around with other (willing) 15 year-olds then fine, that’s the lot of you exploring your sexuality, however, if some 35 year-old takes advantage of your innocence and inexperience that IS and should be ILLEGAL.

You argue that you “knew what you were doing. . .” Well, what kid DOESN’T think he/she is utterly in control of his/her situation and has all the answers? Fortunately, by the time we reach adulthood we can reflect on just how ignorant of the world we really were and be thankful that certain social conventions and yes, laws were in place. Admit it, these rather reasonable restrictions have no small part in allowing us the luxury of becoming adults in an unkind and often predatory world.

Before you try to dismiss my thoughts as those of a “prude” let me state that I believe that ANY sexual practice is wonderful AS LONG AS all parties involved are consenting. That means no children, no animals and no unwilling participants (why would you be pathetic enough to have to involve any of those factors?). I personally have had all KINDS of fun but everyone was of age and we were all there for that purpose. Are those simple criteria too much to ask? Are some adults SO sexually insecure that they need to prey upon those too green to realize their pursuer’s blaring inadequacies?

You use the past tense when discussing your youth so I’m assuming that you’re no longer in your teens. If this is so,it seems your thought processes haven’t become more sophisticated with age. Based on what you’ve written here you’re still operating on a very juvenile “Whatever, I’ll do what I want!” ethos.

That’s counterintuitive to the very concept of civilization i.e. quasi-Libertarian bullshit.

    Come on – grow up!

Hey guys the old anti Bryan posts have been removed from Brents site because they had settled. You take down the negative comments, they have been deleting them slowly since Dec. I should know mine was one of them! BTW if you go to Cobra’s site Bryan had corrected Brent Corrigans age to 20 ,this was recent,,,They were all ready to make nice the war was over and then this had to happen. Your right coming so soon after the crazy Falcon model who killed a guy in Denver some of these models are unstable.

i personally think that it was wrong for brent to lie about his age. but one thing that i found interesting is how did this guy not notice that brent was 15, i question this because the guy does not look any older than 17!but whatever, the guy is dead get over it, idont believe he deserved to die, but whoever killed must have had a reason.

This posting made me ill. This murder probably had little to do with sex, as stated earlier. The fact that this guy was convicted of “relations” with a minor only proves that his professional judgement was as screwed up as his personal choices. as for the guy here that stated he was 15 years old when he first had sex, good for you pal, but it doesn’t make it anymore legal and I’m sure your therapy bills and list of bad relationshps only proves that point stronger. We’re al here for the smut, but porn is a business full of uneducated low lifes. some get lucky and amange tostay on the “straight” and narrow path. But I’m sure that this guy wronged the wrong people. In a business full of tough guys, expect the worst. Now, onto the next clip! LOL

Okay Micheal Cabrera, I had sex at an early age ,too. I was 14. but you know what, I was with someone my own age, not a grown up perv. And 15 is not an adult, therefore you were still a child, unless you were living in a home You were paying the bills for, unless you had your own money. And weather or not you want to face it, if you at only 15 had sex with an adult who knew you were only only 15 then you were molested and are in serious denial about the damage done to your mental state, evidencede by your apparent support of such activities. It is illegal for a good reason – lives get corrupted. Would you be willing to take advantage of a niave young teenager who thinks he knows what’s best for him? Mabe you are just as dangerous as the perv who molested you, is that the case? Definately don’t defend child molesters, people. It’s all good in the would of fantasy, but don’t take action and ruin the lives of young men who’ve not yet had a chance to really live.
