The bar Truck opened about five years ago, in an otherwise desolate stretch of San Francisco, between leathery gay South of Market and the hip Mission. The geographical vacuum — and that owner Paul Miller was hot and hung — allowed it to get away with a bit more than an ordinary gay bar would have.
