The Week That Gay Porn Broke

Like running into an old friend on the street, I was rather happy to see one of my favorite gay ladies, Gus Mattox, in today’s gray lady (in the Home & Gardens Section, no less!) in a piece about his new real estate venture Acme Housing. Chi Chi LaRue also gets a shout out. What’s next for Gus? A show on HGTV? I hope so!

Revolving around his recent the Stanford University Brouhaha, left-leaning political journal The New Republic wrote a fairly flattering profile on “Gay porn’s neocon kingpin.” As flattering as a dry magazine like TNR can be — they do mention that Lucas has called the Koran “today’s Mein Kampf” and quote an employee of a competing studio as saying “the entire industry is terrified of Michael Lucas”.

I know, I know — Erk’s appeared in NYC nightlife rag Paper numerous times, but in the interview that appears in this week’s issue with the incredible hunk (who’s looking very thin) delves deep into politics (he supports Howard Stern for Prez), being shot in the arm (he’s “starved for attention.”) and cannibalism.

Yes Erik is thin. Have you read his blog, erikrhodes.blogspot.com? He is talking about doing Tina, Coke, and shooting up on it. Not to mention Jason Curious’s Video commentary of his “decent into madness”. I hope he gets his life straight.

It’s probably old news to you, but just to mention that Tag Erikkson, the former Jet Set man (THE HOLE, AMERICAN PORN STAR), is a successful and jet-setting real estate big shot based in NYC. Sounds like you not only read the Times, but the dead-tree version. I’m impressed!

re my previous comment: I stupidly didn’t realize the online Times had separate Home & Garden section. I’m still impressed, though…

I wonder if Lucas is vehemently anti-Christian and anti-Jewish as well. Those religions aren’t too keen on gays either and the fundamentalists in those little clubs have done their best to persecute us whenever they can.

Why doesn’t Mr. Lucas concentrate some of his ire on the anti-gay attitudes in his homeland or doesn’t he realize that Russian police watched as Neo Nazis brutally attacked a peaceful attempt at a gay pride parade in Moscow last year? I wonder why he doesn’t use that “Moscow State Law Academy” degree to fight for gay rights in Russia.
My guess is that Lucas doesn’t know/care about much of what happens outside of Chelsea or West Hollywood.

Consider this before your next rant, Mr. Lucas: Fred Phelps isn’t kneeling towards Mecca every afternoon and he sure as hell isn’t celebrating Passover.

I’m certainly no defender of religious fundamentalism, regardless of the stripe (I consider myself agnostic), but railing against one (mainly brown) facet of a HUGE problem (namely religious persecution of gays) makes you, Lucas, look at best – uninformed, at worst – racist.

    Think about it.

not_buying_it: You’ve got a point, but no one else is stringing them up these days, to my knowledge.

    Will,

I know for a fact that Gay USA’s Ann Northrop and Andy Humm have been railing against the wholesale persecution of gays in Muslim countries for quite some time. Amnesty International is also a great source to find reports of religious intolerance of gays worldwide.

They’re not taking Mr. Lucas’ idiotic tack. His nonsense is loud and incendiary so it finds its way into the “knowledge” of causal observers of world events.

Ignorance (all kinds) just feeds the desire to “string up” people.
