R.I.P. JOSH WESTON (1973-2012)
Former Falcon Exclusive Josh Weston has died, The Sword reports.
The strawberry blond star of Heaven to Hell, Quarterback Sack and Fleet Week passed away earlier this week due to a heart attack related to HIV. Weston caused a stir in early 2008 when he began shooting bareback videos. Later, he was brought back to Falcon Studios for the equally controversial (at the time) Fleet Week.
In an 2006 interview with Lavender Lounge, Weston dismissed notions we should pity the porn star.
As for difficulty in being in porn, I’m always surprised that many people think that if you do porn its because you had no other options in life, last refuge of the scoundrel. I could have been anything in the world I wanted to be, and Im doing exactly what I want. People are also often taken back by porn stars that think, are intelligent, I guess they don’t expect it. Just because I get double fucked on camera doesnt mean I cant conjugate a verb.
Weston may have had demons, but for him, porn wasn’t one of them. Still, Weston’s death concludes a particularly sad year for the industry, after the loses of Roman Ragazzi, Erik Rhodes, Tanner Hayes and Adam Faust.

He got into bareback porn, and eventually contracted HIV and died. I certainly hope the actors on Corbin Fisher, Treasure Island Media, and the other bareback studios are paying attention. Yes, I know there is regular testing, but there is also a window between infection and when one will test positive where one can infect other. What happened to Josh Weston is tragic, and simply did not have to occur. There is more than enough work in porn where condoms are used. I can’t imagine barebacking pays THAT much more, and even if it does, is it worth this? RIP, Josh.

You are speculating on how and when he got HIV, only him and his doctor knew that. My guess, however, is he decided to make bareback after he found out about his status. He probably got infected from unprotected sex in his personal life, while he was still doing comdom-porn. He didn’t die from working for one company or another, he died as a result of his own choices in life.

Jay, that is quite possible, however it seems as if he didn’t contract HIV while he was working for Falcon, but after, when he started doing bareback porn. While nobody will know for sure how or when or from whom he contracted it, (yes, of course it could have been in his personal life), the timing seems to support the theory that bareback porn is responsible. Either way, it’s too bad this happend, especially when everyone knows how to protect themselves. It’s also true that all bareback performers are consenting adults, have the right to do what they want, and clearly there is a market for this type of product. I still think no amount of money, or thrill in one’s personal life is worth this kind of risk.

Josh got into barebacking and contracted HIV but I doubt if that was the cause of his heart attack. HIV usually doesn’t cause heart attacks but the frequent use of steroids does and Josh was into steroids big time. Whatever the cause, RIP Josh.

Hopefully the condom law in LA will help save a few of these guys! I kept hearing how unnecessary the law was from porn people- well, CLEARLY it is NECESSARY!!!!!! When a performer goes from Falcon, etc to bareback productions- I figure he has HIV/AIDS….has anyone seen recent pics of Jeff Palmer- he looks like he’ll be following Josh in days….The industry just doesn’t give a damn about the peeople in it- all the bareback companies are greedy bastards with blood on their hands!!!!

How is it going to save any lives?. You honestly think that people having bareback sex on camera are not doing it in their private lives as well?. How incredibly naive some people can be. The law is not going to accomplish anything, the companies will move out of the LA area, simple as that. Much of the bareback porn is not produced in LA anyways. The demand for bareback porn grows everyday. The only thing this law is going to accomplish is set a very sad, scary precedent in terms of freedom of speech and the liberties of consenting adults.

He was one of two men in porn who got me into watching the falcon movies. I loved seeing Josh onscreen and no matter who he was with his moaning and his climaxing were epic, he always and I mean always looked like he was enjoying himself more than anyone but not in the fake way that you see so often.
No matter the cause of his illness or the choices he made in life we lost someone that was a face in the industry and that’s sad.

How he got it isn’t the story here. And whether or not porn kills its performers isn’t the story either. The story is that a life that was so full of promise got sidetracked from its fullest potential and it ended too soon. All of us who watch porn for our own gratitfication feel a sense of ownership in the performers who stir something deep within us. But ALL of us should learn from this: unprotected sex kills eventually. Keep Josh in your heart for years to come – wear a condom and ensure his memory lives on in us

This entire discussion of why Josh died is based on assumptions. Here are the FACTS. Josh did not die of a heart attack caused by AIDS, or by the medicines that fight AIDS. Read his death certificate, which is public record in SF. The proximate cause of death was “Septic shock”. Underlying cause was “bacterial endocarditis. “HIV” is listed SEPARATELY as a “condition”present, but NOT in the sequence leading to death. The FACT is that Josh had a defective heart valve for years, possibly congenital. The FACT is that he wore an implanted pacemaker for the last three or four years. I know, because I SAW it when we showered together many times. Those devices are highly subject to malfunction and/or infection, because they are foreign devices implanted in the heart. Josh was a very nice guy. So let him rest in peace. And truth. Yammer all you want about harmful sexual practices, but don’t jump to conclusions.
