R.I.P Ethan Marc

This news hits me like a ton of bricks: Ethan Marc is dead, (per GPTimes). We became friends on the set of Wet Palms, where we bonded over a love for Apple products and modern design (he sold me his Louis Ghost chair for a steal and I still have it).

Frequent run-ins with the law and bouts in and out of rehab got in the way of a consistent porn career and made it almost impossible to stay in touch. In 2005 he found himself in the center of a mess of drama involving some bad checks, and an angry porn star ex-roommate. He then left the porn industry until earlier this year, when he cropped up in a few scenes on amateur porn site Southern Strokes.

In an interview I did with Ethan in 2004, he told me his secret fear was growing old. He would have turned 39 in two weeks. His obituary doesn’t list a cause of death, but says he went “peacefully”. Although I hadn’t heard from him since 2006, I still would think of him from time to time. Despite his best efforts to hide it, he was an incredibly smart and caring person who left a considerable impact on me.

A candid I took on the set of Wet Palms, Ethan Marc's smile could light up a room

Rest in peace, Chad.

Was it really necessary to bring up all his old dirty laundry in your supposed loving tribute? Tacky.

You’re coming to a site called “gay porn blog” for a white-washed euphemistic obituary? Sorry but there’s one thing I’m not and it’s phony.

Dirty laundry? Please. It provided context and was relevant to the overall story, which was written here sincerely and elegantly.

So…in an industry that makes money from objectification; where youth equals beauty, and any and all other issues are put to the side, this is a surprise because…?

A shame to hear about his loss. I can’t remember anything he’s been in, but he was really handsome by what he looks like in those pictures. I’m sure he would have aged well!

Off topic, I was reading that link about his incident in 2005, and you just reminded me how gorgeous Dick Wolf was! I sure would like to see him make a comeback!

and also the retirement of Joey Russo, Jacob Slater & Cory Koons was short-lived. They’ve all returned to porn- bareback porn that is.

He was in some films for Jet Set and did quite a few videos for Show Guys. He recently was on the Southern Strokes site but one role that stands out was playing Jason Adonis’ boyfriend on Falcon Studios’ “Taking Flight, Part 1”. Ethan (Chad) was a phenomenal bottom, so far as to say he was a power bottom. His orgasms were intense. It’s sad because I kept wondering why I hadn’t seen any updates for him on Southern Strokes and now I know why. I was excited to see him make a comeback but I’m so sad that it was so short.

There is nothing wrong with the story, it was tastefully done.

Was he really already 39? In the interview in 2004, he says he’s 27. Also, according to iafd.com, he was born in 1978. That would make him 32/33.

You guys who bashed him for bringing in “personal facts” are just heartless. This was written by someone who considered this beautiful man a close friend. It was expressed from the heart and the overall tone was written from someone who truly cared for this person.

The main point: one of this Earth’s children is now gone and some people are truly hurt and upset by this. Let this friend grieve and express himself as he sees fit.

My deepest condolences on your loss.

I remember him in some hot bottoming scenes in some of the earliest pornos I ever watched.

He was so gorgeous. I was so disappointed to hear of his crimes. Now he’s dead. It’s just such a waste.

That’s a 1000 watt smile that could light up any room. Always so sad to see someone die young, isn’t it? Only the good die young. RIP buddy.
