Deaths, accidental or otherwise, are quite sad, and Kent North’s apparent suicide last Wednesday is no exception. A week of sensationalist detective work online followed, with exigetical readings of the official Hot House press release and various blogs detailing suspected methods and porn-stars-are-sure-unhappy handwringing from the peanut gallery. Whether it was an accidental or purposeful overdose matters little.

Kent North, from the little I knew him, was gracious and charming. Whatever his other issues, porn seemed to be one of the highspots in his life. Fans who want to send their condolences to his partner, Lloyd, may do so through Hot House at the address below:

it is so sad how people just don’t care anymore – may his soul rest in peace and may he find the happiness he was looking for – best wishes to his family.

I wish there was some other information other than “it was an apparent suicide.” Was he struggling with depression for a long time beforehand? Did something sudden occur to make suicidal? His wit and sarcastic humor always stood out to me and the world has been robbed of a true gentleman with his death. My condolences to his friends and family.

I know Kent personally, we try to keep in touch with each other and his BF as well. He was one of the nicest and kindest person you could have met. His death was truly a shock to me since the last e-mail he sent me was to see me again at Folsom Street Fair this year. As Folsom street fair draws near I will remember him and will pray that he can finally be in peace at last.
