Kanye Says “Call Me Pres” and Miley Says “Dooo It!” With Drag Queens: A Night At The VMA’s
The unpredictable MTV Video Music Awards always gives us something to talk about the next day and last night was no exception. First, we learned as Taylor Swift introduced Kayne West, the pair had squashed their beef, “Right now, I’m honored to present the 2015 Vanguard Award to my friend, Kanye West.”
For West, first there was an confession,”I wonder, did he smoke something before he came here?” The answer is yes, I rolled up a little something to knock the edge off.”
Then an admission, “And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.
Headlining the show’s finale, Miley Cyrus performed queens from Ru Paul’s Drag Race to capitalize on demographics of the audience to send forth a powerful message of her own in her own inimitable way:
“People need to see every type of human being on that stage being celebrated, people that are outside of that box of what we’re told,” she said. “[For] people that watch the show — it’s usually a lot of young people out there — you’re at your most impressionable and it’s where you learn when you’re young, what’s right and wrong, and how you treat other people.”
And this is how it went down …
