Conan: Gus Kenworthy Shares His Coming Out Journey

Last October, I covered the news that Olympic athlete and top-ranked, 24-year-old freeskier Gus Kenworthy has come out in an interview with OutSports.

Since then, he has been everywhere …

Including Times Square with Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper

And more recently …

… binge-watching Making a Murderer with lucky boyfriend actor Matthew Wilkas.

Last night, Gus was on Conan O’Brien where he discussed the details of his coming out journey …

“I had a boyfriend at the time and had kind of talked about landing the best run ever and winning an Olympic gold medal and kissing him at the bottom and… That would be my way of telling everyone. But it didn’t happen, and I’m glad it didn’t because I hadn’t told my mom, my dad, my brothers. It would have not only been a shock to the sport and to the Olympics, but my family would have been like, what the hell?”

Sexy, talented, charming, and funny. I will say it again, Matthew Wilkas is one lucky guy.
