Frameline Gay Film Fest is Really Porny This Year

San Francisco’s 35th annual Frameline Film Festival is arguably one of the biggest and most influential GLBT film festivals in the world. And while in the past I’ve felt like they tended to shy away from the racier gay films in lieu of more “family-friendly” fare, this year they’ve more than made up for it with a program that’s dripping with films about gay porn, starring gay porn stars and even some actual gay porn.

1. I Want Your Love (Demo):
Not to be too presumptuous, but chances are you’ve already seen the short film I produced with director Travis Mathews, since it’s already screened at over 20 international film festivals and been viewed well over 1 million times online. But, nonetheless, as a former Frameline intern, I couldn’t be more excited to have it screen their program an in a theater around the corner from my house. If you come by the June 20 screening please say hello, wish me an early happy birthday and join us for drinks and afterwards. Be on the lookout for the feature in 2012 (Buy ticketsFacebook fan pageofficial site)

2. Smut Capital of America:
Coming off it’s premiere at the prestigious Tribeca film fest, GPB Co-Editor’s Mike Stabile’s doc about San Francisco’s role in the development of the straight and gay porn industry (which was financed in part by some generous GayPornBlog readers) plays in a program of shorts called “Only In San Francisco” on June 19. Both Mike and I will at the screening so what excuse do you have not to come if you’re in town? (Buy tickets, Facebook fan page, official site)

3. LA Zombie:
Although it’s also currently playing on NakedSword, this is the kind of movie that is just all the more fun to watch with an audience.  Matthew Rush, Erik Rhodes, Francesco D’Macho and a couple other of gay porn’s biggest stars get doused in blood and have various orifices and wounds fucked by Francois Sagat’s prostetic alien penis. Director Bruce La Bruce — never one to shy away from using explicit gay porn in his loved/hated art films — is subject of an excellently named French doc called Advocate of Fagdom which is also playing at Frameline. 4. Judas Kiss
brent corrigan gay porn judas kissThis is one of two low-budget films that gay porn’s favorite overachieving twunk Brent Corrigan is starring in this year (also see the campy 50s musical spoof I Was a Teenage Warebear, which is making the rounds on the GLBT film festival circuit as well).

Judas Kiss, which makes it’s West Coast premiere at Frameline on June 19, has been receiving a decent amount of buzz and actually getting some great reviews. (buy tickets, official site)

5. Longhorns
The Lair’s Dylan Vox is a successful gay actor working in gay Hollywood who’s starred in such films as Showgirl (not to be confused with camp classic Showgirls), Keeping Up With The Kartrashians (not to be confused with the hit show Keeping Up With The Kardashians), and Battle of Los Angeles (not to be confused with the blockbuster Battle: Los Angeles). But of course we all best remember Dylan’s prolific gay porn past life as Brad Benton an amicable star who routinely got fucked cross-eyed  in a seemingly endless list of blue movies. (Buy tickets)

Extra Credit: Bite Marks
Stephen Geoffreys Gay Porn Star Sam RitterAlso making its premier at Frameline is gay vampire buddy movie Bite Marks, which features a comeback of sorts of 80s actor Stephen Geoffreys (Heaven Help Us, 976-Evil, Fright Night).

Eagle-eyed gay porn fans or course remember that in the 90s (allegedly while battling drugs and facing hard times) Geoffreys appeared in a string of terrible, low-budget gay porn movies under the aliases Sam Ritter and Stephan Bordeaux. Movie also co-stars David Alanson (better known to gay porn fans as Active Duty’s “David”) and straight porn starlet Krystal Main.  (Buy tickets, official site, watch the trailer)
