Falcon Banishes the Cold With ‘Winter Heat’
The thaw might be breaking in most of the country, but Falcon’s still unwrapping packages from a few months back. In the tradition of The Other Side of Aspen, the studio has taken the boys out of the city for a little rest and relaxation. And in the tradition of Fleet Week, they’ve given them nothing to eat but, uh, protein. There’s a little cabin fever evident, but it’s not quite The Shining. I’m not sad to see the cold go, but I wish I’d taken more advantage of the sex appeal of thermals a little more.

I’ve been purchasing Falcon vids since the 80’s & it does seem that they don’t know how to push the envelop anymore–many of my friends have also noticed how Falcon has slipped. Jamieboy – Yes I LOVE Diaz. But my poorly worded post concerned Falcon’s roster of exclusives. (Believe Diaz is still with Channel One.) If a studio like Falcon doesn’t develop big stars exclusivs to them they might as well fold up their tent. I just haven’t really seen that with Falcon for quite a while now. In fact they seem to announce an exclusive with great fanfare and then they disappear after a couple of movies.

I do think it’s hard for Falcon and the others to insist on exclusivity these days with so much green to be made freelancing and appearing on the web. Here’s my unasked-for advice: Falcon merges with Randy Blue, etc. The sites are serving as the talent pool for the studios more and more anyway; make it official and everybody wins. Straight, G4P, whatever it is they call themselves, the guys on the top sites have become the gold standard in hot that Falcon exclusivity used to be.

Guys. There are axes being ground to death on here. Here’s whats really happened; Falcon started the gay porn industry and almost EVERY studio operating today has Falcon to thank for their introduction into the industry. As Falcon’s competition grew models had many more choices of where to go, prior to Falcon’s competition there was really no were else for a hot model to go. So now here we are today with TOO many studios and on-line sites and they’re all vying for the very limited amount of guys willing to do this type of work and all of a sudden FALCON has fallen from grace. Falcon currently has three of the biggest pornstars working in the industry today; Matthew Rush, Roman Heart and Erik Rhodes, they also have some new Exclusives with great potential. Yes, things have changed at Falcon since the death of it’s founder but instead of ringing the death knoll for this company why aren’t the people who helped build the company going to the current owner and presenting a way to bring back the luster? Is it that important to them, are they so bitter, is the competition so bad that they WANT to see the company fold? Why doesn’t John Rutherford fold Colt into Falcon and bring back the passion and soul by pushing the current empty heads out? Why? Don’t let some conglomerate come in and further destroy it! C’mon John – you know who to go to. You would be hearalded as the biggest hero in the industry if you pulled it off. I think it’s pretty pathetic how apathetic everyone is when it comes to Falcon. Whether you currently like Falcon or not the history cannot be denied, don’t let it slip away guys, it’s an important part of our history in this industry. DO SOMETHING.

Know=ir-all — I’ll call you know-more-than-most — happen to agree with most of your post. You’re right, Falcon’s glory days were part of a fledgling industry and no company will ever dominate that way again. Would slightly disagree that people owe it to history to revive the company – only ones owed are the shareholders. Your comments on Rutherford are spot on, his departure started the trouble, but there is also an intangible component because I never thought he equaled his work at Falcon after he left.
Rush is seemingly retired, Rhodes and Heart are no longer hot new discoveries. I think it would go a long way to hire an experienced and connected talent development department.

John Rutherford will not go back to Falcon after they sued him. I can’t remember the issues but it was a pretty long drawn out nasty case. Many of his behind the scenes people left too. Compare Falcon to studios such as Titan and there is a huge gap in quality, direction, story line, presentation etc etc.
It is sad because in the 80s and 90s nothing could come near Falcon’s story lines, hot men and sheer erotic magnetism of the stars.
A couple of studs does not a good porno make.
