Picking up from where we left off yesterday, here’s the conclusion of our two-part interview with Collin O’Neal where Collin gives us insight into his casting process as well as some obstacles working with models who don’t necessarily identify as “gay”.

Where and how do you find your models?

I find my models mainly via gay social networking websites like BigMuscle, Gaydar, and GayRomeo. I met Pedro and Daniel from Sao Paulo and Miami, and Said from Lebanon over the net. There are a few times I meet guys on the street or in clubs like Jacko from Lebanon who I met in a café in Aleppo, a city in Northern Syria and then I met my exclusive Francisco Rey, while he was cleaning the pool of our hotel in the Dominican Republic. I am very shy in person, so it is very hard for me to just walk up to guys and pop the porn question.

Outside observers assume that the porn industry is only after one thing -- your money. But the rise in popularity -- with both porn consumers and producers -- is a testament to industry's maturation. The release of the GayVN Award noms earlier this week -- and the cock comparisons that soon followed -- show an increasing number of studios are as interested in popular and critical acclaim as they are cash.

(I'll temper any brag at our being nominated again for Best Screenplay for Wet Palms by putting parentheses around it, like it ain't no thing.)

Of course, with award season comes boasting. Press releases for new films frequently tout their film as the director's "best ever," or the studio's "biggest release yet," to a degree that borders on comic. In the past year I've heard about 'the most expensive porn ever made,' or 'the largest production ever staged' or, merely, the most successful porn film ever. Films are routinely "historic," productions "Hollywood quality." Now, there have been some amazing productions this year, but the endless hype can devalue the linguistic currency.

The average week brings ten new movies -- it's a lot of porn to watch, so you can't really blame producers are marshalling all their superlatives. But it doesn't mean all films are equal (we do, after all fully deserve to win Best Screenplay), we just need to start articulating better what makes them so good. As we approach the GayVN Awards (March 9, West Hollywood), we'll review some of our favorite moments from the 2005 year in porn. Here are the nominees:

Mark your calendar! After a six-month hiatus, three more episodes of Wet Palms are scheduled to hit the web in early November. Jet Set exec and WP Producer Mark Hovanec has promised that the new episodes will wow even the most jaded porn watcher: In addition to blackmail, kidnapping, adultery, drug addiction and corporate raiding, the season finale -- or should I say climax -- ends with a real bang.

Who will live? Who will die? And more importantly, will straight loner Lucky Hanson (Gabriel Knight) ever fuck a guy? You'll never know unless you watch. (Just because Jack and I wrote the scripts doesn't mean we're going to spoil the surprise!)

Reaching deep into his acting reserves, megawatt muscle-stud Jason Adonis has signed a deal to bottom in Jet Set Production's newest release. The filming has yet to commence and we're holding our breath hoping the straight stud won't 'back' out. But we're sending rosebuds just the same.

Adonis has had a tumultous rise to fame after being discovered by then Jet Set President Brett Drysdale. The hulking behemoth went on to star in a series of high-profile Jet Set releases, including Wash West's The Hole and American Porn Star before being whisked away as a Lifetime Exclusive by Falcon Studios for the best-selling and mile-high Taking Flight.

His exclusive contract didn't last a lifetime however and Adonis was soon a free agent again. He signed onto the Wet Palms gay porn soap for three episodes during which another straight man -- the ever ready Rod Barry -- bottomed for the pumped hunk. Most recently, the heterophilic Adonis appeared in Athletic Model Guild's Resurrection and talked about discussing creating his own production company, Jason Adonis Entertainment.

The first season of Wet Palms officially drew to a close last week. Mike and I wrote a gnarly cliffhanger to take place at a gala party, which we just assumed would be populated with extras. But leave it to Brett from Jet Set to make the filming of the finale into an actual wrap party and ensure anyone who was anyone was there.

Mike and I had to sit this one out in San Francisco, as our respective day jobs continue to gobble up more and more of our time. And while being on the set for the first two sets of episodes was one of the high-points of last year, I didn't think missing these would be too huge of a deal. This morning I read Ken Knox's write up about the party for AVN and was fine with it all, really. Then I read Gus Mattox's calendar entry on the filming, complete with photos, and -- for the first time -- felt totes sad that I wasn't able to be there to see it all first-hand. It was an amazing experience and I feel super lucky to have been able to be a part of it all.

In honor of this milestone, I finally got around to posting a photo gallery of snapshots from the filming of the second set of episodes of Wet Palms on fauxjob.com. Maybe you can see what I'm talking about ...
