2007 Gay Porn “Oscar” Noms Announced
The GAYVN Awards — the closest the gay porn industry has to the Oscars — were announced late yesterday to little fanfare (most likely because everyone is at the AVN Expo in Vegas but lil old me…)
As expected, Lucas Entertainment’s La Dolce Vita was the most nominated with a total of 14. Buckshot Productions’s Big Rig, Falcon’s Velvet Mafia and Hot House’s Justice were tied with 12 noms each.
COLT Studio Group garnered the most nominations — 24 total — with Channel 1 Releasing coming in a close second with 20.
Really, no shockers here … unless you take the time to think about a few really glaringly ovbvious omissions in the lot …
The awards will be held on February 24th, and for the first time they’re being in San Francisco, at the Castro Theater — smack dab in the heart of Gayville.

Brent Corrigan definitely was overlooked. His scene with Erik Rhodes in The Velvet Mafia is smoking hot and his acting was excellent. Derrick should have been nominated for The Velvet Mafia not Top to Bottom. He was great in both but had a much bigger part in VM. The Year of 2006 was all about MASON WYLER
He did more work in one year than most of the people nominated in both Performer of the Year and Best Newcomer have done in their entire careers.
He was the First to truly reach the internet audience base AND the Main Studio base.
