Exclusive Inside Dish on “Mambo Italiano”

Working in the profession that chose me, I have had the opportunity to meet some extraordinary people in our industry. One of those at the very top of my list for being a person, inside as out, even more beautiful than the movies he creates, is director Lucas Kazan.

Lucas Kazan was born and raised in Milan. He later graduated from the American Film Institute in California before being mentored for four years by the recently departed Gino Colbert. Lucas Kazan established his own studio in 1997 and twenty years later, was inducted into the GayVN Awards “Hall of Fame” for his contributions to the gay porn industry.

GayPornBlog had an exclusive sit-down a couple of years ago with Lucas Kazan and I had the opportunity to speak with him just this weekend. Seems Lucas had been keeping some dish about his, “17 testosterone exuding muscular hunks in heat” epic Mambo Italiano which had recently been released to the ‘Netflix of Gay Porn,’ NakedSword.

 

The dirt was on the movie’s star, LucasKazan exclusive Daniele Montana. Like any good friend, I was happy to facilitate Lucas unburdening himself to me GayPornBlog.

“Sometimes real life — well … porn life — is stranger than fiction”, says director Lucas Kazan.

We found Daniele online, we auditioned him on Skype and offered him 2 scenes on the spot. How could we not? Daniele had everything going for him: a muscular body — he’s a pro body builder — all-Italian good looks, a gorgeous face and no sexual inhibitions. We wasted no time, signed him to an exclusive contract, sent him out to public appearances in Northern Italy.

Daniele made no secrets of his ‘other life’ as an escort — in fact, he amused us (and the press) with sordid tales about a high-ranking Monsignor at the Vatican. He also made no secrets of his sexual preferences: he liked them either as muscular as he was — or much, much younger. We accommodated him, AND he grew more and more popular with the fans and ended up as a finalist at the Mr. Gay Italia pageant.

One short year into his stint as a LucasKazan exclusive, Daniele found his “soul mate” and retired from porn. LoW and behold, things didn’t last very long and Daniele found his way back to the set. We cast him opposite super-twink Philippe Delvaux in a smoking-hot scene we filmed in his home town of Rimini (see it in MAMBO ITALIANO).

Upon wrapping up the shoot, Daniele begged us to pair him with BelAmi’s superstar Kris Evans — his all-time fave. We promised. Then, just a few weeks later, yet another change of heart: Daniele decided that he wasn’t gay after all and that he wanted nothing to do with gay porn. He under went plastic surgery (why?), got even more serious about body building, embraced the extreme right and has been posting xenophobic and racist comments on his Facebook page.

We miss the ‘old’ Daniele, down to earth, friendly and always fun. What happened?”
