Is Logan McCree Dating A Woman?
Gay Porn superstar Logan McCree has never been one to play by anybody’s rules, which is part of the reason alt-tattoed hotties has garnered such a large and loyal fan base. However this latest development — if today’s story in one of Scotland’s largest tabloids is true — may leave some scratching their heads.
According to Daily Record McCree has been looking for a plot of land in the remote Scottish town of Durness (population 350) to build a home for himself and new girlfriend, Zazna. Locals of the sleepy town are concerned that they might have to deal with a gay porn star taking up residence:
And the former DJ, who was in a relationship with American porn star Vinnie d’Angelo until recently, even claimed that he was no longer homosexual.
He said: “I’ve fallen in love with a wonderful woman, Zazna, and I’d love to bring her to stay with me once I’ve finish building my own house.
“I hope people will give me a chance to show them who I am, not what they’ve read about me, and that they get to know me before making any judgements.”
They also say that Logan plans to open a hair salon and massage parlor in Durness (remember when he got fucked in a barber’s chair in Staghomme’s Barber’s Blade?) When I saw Logan at the Folsom Street Fair last year, he failed to mention any of this! He was, however, wearing a formal Scottish kilt and all the accessories:

I can’t blame him for going where his heart leads him, man or woman, but to claim suddenly he is not homosexual (though maybe he means he is bisexual) is rather a bullshit thing for him to do, because it will just reinforce the notion that all a gay man needs is a good woman to “cure” him.
Still, I can’t find myself at all shocked that he would do anything odd, the tattoos all over his body like that have always left me wondering what damage he suffers on the inside to do that to himself. You’d think by now people would stop buying into all this “I thought he was really gay” crap once and for all. There is no such thing as a “gay” (i.e., homosexual) porn star in this business. These guys are performers, and regardless of what they do on camera, virtually all of them date and/or fuck women in their personal lives.

And what the fuck is all this “follow your heart” and “conform to gay norms” crap supposed to mean? If you’re genuinely homosexual, your “heart” is only going to lead you to a man, not a woman. How it is “conforming” to gay norms if you only want to have sex with men, the gender you’re actually attracted to? Isn’t that the whole point of being gay? I guess it’s the going thing now for gay guys to fall in love with women, all in the name of “non-conformity” to gay standards and “following their heart.” What this really means is what society has been telling us since the moment we were born: be straight like all the other guys. It means that our dual view of sexuality is, and has always been, severely flawed. The fact that a man loves to suck cock and fuck hot man ass does not necessarily mean he dislikes licking tits and fucking pussy. The notion that in nature anything, especially anything as complex as human sexuality, would ever be as black and white as “gay” and “straight” is silly, and it surprises me that more people don’t see it.
He is sexual, he likes men, he likes women, and he has the ability to feel emotional connection to both, and our insistence that he has to be one or the other or be crazy says more about our own bigotries than it does about him.
Now, the tattoos, that might say something about his craziness, but again, it is his body, and what he does with it is his business.
As for me, well, I find women attractive, but I know I cannot form any kind of meaningful sexual/emotional bond with them. That’s me, gay gay gay, but I can’t in all honesty say that I would never find myself faced with a woman who is wonderful, spiritual, sexy, and so great as a person that I would fall for her. It could happen. Not likely with me, but it could, and why would I then deny myself that love just to fit into the label “Gay”?

That is not the point I was making. Bisexuality has always existed, and I’ve never denied that. If he’s bisexual, good for him. But my point was not really about Logan; it was about gay men not conforming to these supposed “gay norms” that people keep bringing up and consequently pursuing relationships with women…which is basically conforming to “heterosexual norms.” (Think about Johnny Weir’s asinine “I’m gay but I’d totally marry a woman” statement.)

Seriously, do you not see the contradiction in your own words? In one breath you say, “I cannot form any kind of meaningful sexual/emotional bond with [women],” then in the next breath you talk about falling in love with a woman and refusing to let your “label” hold you back. If falling in love with someone doesn’t involve forming a “meaningful sexual/emotional bond” with that person, then what the heck does it involve for you? Besides, there are likely many women out there who fit your description to a T, so surely you should be able to find one. But aren’t you really just playing into “heterosexual norms” that tell you over and over that you SHOULD be with a woman in the first place by remaining “open” to the possibility?

At first I was extremely pissed and somewhat devastated of the news of his new-found heterosexuality, but not after reading the interview explaining his sexuality. Can you really expect a man who tattoos his body like that to conform to one definition or label of sexuality?

I saw Logan McCree last September in Berlin at the Folsom Europe Street Fair. He was sitting alongside me in a restaurant in the middle of the gay area, in full view of everyone with his girlfriend, with whom he was very obviously in a relationship. Their converstaion was also very easy to hear for one and all. He had attended some event the night before with her in tow, who he had introduced to one and all as being his girlfriend. She said she was uncomfortable in these situations and thought that it would severley damgae his profile as an international gay porn actor. He was having none of it, the public could like it or leave it, she was his girlfriend and that was it. On leaving the restaurant, he was immediately recognised and asked if he would have his photo taken with passersby. He didn’t hesitate, he dazzled that smnile, could not have been more amicable and helped them in any way he could toi get the desired picture. He also introduced his girlfriend to them, and had his photo taken with her as well. I must admit I was very impressed, not just by the fact he looked as good in the flesh, but how well he came across, how friendly he was, and how much he seemed to be in love, and was not afraid to hide it from anyone, whatever the consequences.
People tend to have missed that Phillip Tanzer had a life before porn. He was quite a well known DJ in his hometown of Dresden, (DJ Krieger), and retained his regular set in Katie’s Kitchen there long after he was known as an international pornstar. He also despite people’s assumptions lived quite a sparce lifestyle, indeeed somewhat hermit like life in his cottage, very much at one with nature, which if I recall correctly burnt down a few years back. In his previous interviews I understood that he was an orphan and that he had a brother, who was also gay, although subsequently I have read of the tragic events leading to his mothers death when he was 16. He is a very spiritual person, (many of his tattoos represent angels protecting him), and apart from his porn actor day job, he is a very clean living, non smoking, non drinking, drug free vegetarian.
In 2006 he was crowned the German Mr. Leather and made appearances at the Folsom Street Fair in Berlin, and represented Germany at the International Mr. Leather competition in the USA, where I understand he was ‘discovered’ as he looked very fit back then as well, not your usual ‘leather clone’, and with those tattoos and smile he stood out from the crowd. However, this world was a long way from the quiet life he lived before, and his small circle of friends and fans in his hometown in Germany, and hence it is not unusual that at some stage he should wish to settle down again to a quiet life. His new choice of vocation is somewhat strange. A recording facility or a tattoo parlour would not have surprised, but then again Mr. Tanzer has always done things differently from the norm, and if that is the career path he has now chosen, well good luck to both him and his girlfriend in their lives.
