It´s not surprising but yet noticeable that hair preferences has cultural basis: in America it seems that a short haircut resembles masculinity, but here, in Argentina where I live, and where D.O. comes from is the opposite: short hair is considered too gay and old fashioned. If you ever come down here probably have noticed that. We appreciatte a “not so gay haircut” and the british/european style is a must in therms of masculinity. Short hair also resembles a military look (and we didn´t like military men) or is common in men with no fashion taste or enough money to pay a decent haircut.
