Barresi On Cruise: "Not Gay", (But Maybe He's Not Either)
In his GAYVN-winning role in Velvet Mafia, Paul Barresi kills off a bunch of gangsters. In real life, he's recanting previous allegations possibly to avoid getting destroyed by the Hollywood Mafia himself.
A recent issue of In Touch relies on Barresi's "extensive investigation" on Tom Cruise to declare the megastar unequivocally heterosexual. It's a curious move since last year a chapter from Barresi's autobiography was leaked online and implied that Cruise has a thing for red-headed male hustlers (as did Antonio Bandares, Jason Priestly Garth Brooks and Randy Travis, apparently). Ultimately, the only thing Barresi has ever been successful in proving is that the Cruise camp loves to threaten anyone who suggests he's gay with a fat lawsuit.
While it's strange to see the prolific gay porn director on the pages of a mainstream weekly glossy, it's even stranger to learn that Barresi is married to a woman ... and might actually be straight, himself. Let's look at the facts: he modeled for COLT early on in his career and starred in a handful of straight and gay porn films, but he's never actually had sex with a man on camera. Even in his most notable gay film -- Joe Gage's classic LA Tool & Die -- he fucks a woman.
Of course, there's the business of Barresi selling an account of his alleged sexual relationship with John Travolta to the National Enquirer in 1990, but it's not inconceivable that he just made it up for the $100,000 they paid him for the story? (Like the Cruise allegations, Barresi later publicly retracted the story.)
