Laissez-Fairies: Tim and Roma Goes Gay-for-Pay
Whether or not Tom Katt's religious conviction and corresponding change in sexuality is to be believed, straight(ish) actors are integral to the gay porn industy. On this week's episode of Tim & Roma, the crew gets down and dirty with straight-to-bed superstars Jason Crew and Rod Barry. In addition to gratuitious pantsing and dick-waving (and girlish gossiping about gay-for-pay stars), the two do manage to tackle bigger issues of finance and fellatio.
Of course, we were more intrigued to hear that a certain gay porn star has a day laborer fetish and hires outside the Home Depot for less-than-construction-related purposes. Talk about the invisible hand of the market ...

Emphasis on the "ish" part... I don't believe any of those guys are completely straight for a second. It's funny... There used to be a backlash against gay-identified gay porn stars. But now there's a backlash against straight-identified gay porn stars. That just shows that gay men are now more comfortable in their sexualities, and expect their porn stars to be too.
Posted by: Steve at April 10, 2006 9:10 PMYeah, I agree, Steve. It's a big turn-off to find out your favorite 'gay' star is a ruse. I further admit, probably to the admonishment of some of my gay brothers, that I don't even like my fave gay stars to do 'bi' vids.
Posted by: Skeet at April 11, 2006 1:38 AMThere are plenty of "gay" porn stars who I can believe are really straight (Jason Adonis, Robert Van Damme, etc) but not these two. They're just too enthusiastic on screen, and frankly I don't think they're such good actors that they could fake it that well. They're bi at minimum.

Rex Chandler was definitely straight. I honestly don't care what they are, so long as they give a good performance and turn me on.
Posted by: strongarm at April 11, 2006 8:35 AMAmen to that, strongarm! Who cares what they do when they're not onscreen; it's all about the action in front of the camera. As they say in the episode, gay, straight, bi... they're all just labels.
Posted by: Sister Edith Myflesh at April 11, 2006 4:28 PMI really don't care what they do off screen as long as their performances are good on screen. However, for me personally I would rather watch someone who identifies as gay. If not then it is a total turn off for me.
I don't have fantasies for having sex with straight men. For me to know a favorite gay porn star of mind's identifies as straight ruins the fantasy.
If I wanted to watch straight porn I would have bought straight porn. I'm not interested in someone I can't have from the beginning. If a guy doesn't identify as gay or at least bisexual then its a totally turn off for me.
I agree with Steve completely on this one. Gay men are more comfortable in their sexuality and they want to see above all places in "GAY PORNOGRAPHY" other gay men who are comfortable with their sexuality.
Nothing is more unattractive than a man who doesn't know who he is and lives in denial.

Posted by: alexi_fun at April 17, 2006 1:55 PMGay, straight, bi, tranny, whatever... I shoot a lot of gay-4-pay models and its facinating why they are in gay porn. Excitement, attention, money, college, travel, curious... one boy was trying to earn money for his mom who was really sick. One boy has a grrlfriend (who doesn't know) but confessed that on-screen is the only time he gets to get-it up the butt. Another arrived on the set totally straight, and after 1 week of shooting, had a crush on another gay model and was freaking out. Awwww... watching sexuality unfold infront of our eyes. Beautiful! Everyone should just hump everyone - dats what I think! (Roma...wash yer face!)
