Gay Porn Review: Skuff III
I'll admit it. It's hard for me to get off to porn if I know the actors involved. There are exceptions, of course, but I'm often distracted by my feelings for the actor. Is he whiny? Limp. Does he pester me? Fast-forward. It's hard to enjoy the fantasy when you know the reality. It's a testament to the skill of a great director when I can forget the rest and watch them fuck.
With Skuff III, Hot House director Steven Scarborough has done it: I was able to jerk off watching Jason Ridge. Now don't get me wrong. I love Jason. He's terribly sweet, drop dead gorgeous and hot as fuck. But I know him. We spent weeks together filming Wet Palms. Is it horrible to say I love him like a brother?
But there's pretty-boy Jason on the cover of Skuff III: Downright Wrong, with a bicep the size of a softball and a faceful of scruff. I lick my lips. The next thing you know, I'm watching Jason get face-fucked by Christoph Scarff in a gas mask and loving it! Christoph and Collin O'Neal abuse the fuck out of him and is eating it up. He's got kneepads on, the whore!
Of course, the scene itself is a visual marvel. Scarborough sets up some amazing shots -- a three-person daisy chain, a face-full of bootwater -- and gets one of best group performances so far this year. The boys go crazy in the scene and I don't doubt there enthusiasm for even one second.
Skuff III is Scarborough at the top of his game. He, like Chi Chi LaRue, has a real knack for getting great performances out of his men. And like COLT director Kristofer Weston, he has a keen eye for communicating the subtleties of good sub/dom play. The scenes are fresh and inventive, his shots are crisp and quick. People roll there eyes when you talk about good lighting (or music) in porn, but it's essential. I mean, it's a visual medium folks. The actors need to look good and Steven makes them look terrific. The fantasy is back.

You know now that you are really in the porn business daily I don't think you are capable of giving a good and fair review of movies anymore.
I fully understand the need for lighting, lighting is rarely bad in porn movies unless there are black actors in them.
Why do you never bring up the fact that the porn industry hates black dudes.
