Wet Palms: That's A Wrap
The first season of Wet Palms officially drew to a close last week. Mike and I wrote a gnarly cliffhanger to take place at a gala party, which we just assumed would be populated with extras. But leave it to Brett from Jet Set to make the filming of the finale into an actual wrap party and ensure anyone who was anyone was there.
Mike and I had to sit this one out in San Francisco, as our respective day jobs continue to gobble up more and more of our time. And while being on the set for the first two sets of episodes was one of the high-points of last year, I didn't think missing these would be too huge of a deal. This morning I read Ken Knox's write up about the party for AVN and was fine with it all, really. Then I read Gus Mattox's calendar entry on the filming, complete with photos, and -- for the first time -- felt totes sad that I wasn't able to be there to see it all first-hand. It was an amazing experience and I feel super lucky to have been able to be a part of it all.
In honor of this milestone, I finally got around to posting a photo gallery of snapshots from the filming of the second set of episodes of Wet Palms on fauxjob.com. Maybe you can see what I'm talking about ...

Gay Pride 2005 Day 3: More Porn Stars, More Drag Queens
As Sunday rolled around, I was pretty fucking spent -- so tired that I forgot to TiVo Brad Benton's reality TV debut on E!'s Fight For Fame. Sigh. Somehow I found the strength to carry on ...
Actually it was Dean Monroe, Roman Heart, Erik Rhodes, Matthew Rush, Josh Weston, Alex Rossi, Ethan Kage, Markus Ram and Derrick Vinyard that got me out of bed. They were all rockin' the Falcon Studios booth. I didn't really make it anywhere else ... but, like, can you blame me?

Gay Pride 2005 Day 2: An Ode To Mr. Pam
Still fuzzy from the Friday night festivites, as Saturday rolled along I forgot to bring my camera with me. Each Saturday before the big Parade, the million or so gay tourists (give or take 250,000) descend upon the intersection of 18th and Castro and flood the streets with unabashed faggotry. It's like a scene out of a zombie movie: the climactic finale where the walking dead take over the city and really is the last place I can deal with when hung over.
Yet it was the premiere of Colt's eXposed at the film festival, and I wasn't about to miss it for the world. It's a behind-the-scenes feature of Buckleroos and was shot and edited by the one and only Mr. Pam.
Now I'm sure I've mentioned Mr. Pam quite a few times (see pictures of her here, here, and here but I may not have explained who she is, most likely because she, well, sort of defies explanation. The former newsy left a cushy corporate job to pursue a full-time gay porn life over a year ago. I met her working on The Tim and Roma Show (which she also shoots and edits), and then really got to know her on the set of Wet Palms (which she also shot). The past year her career in gay porn has really taken off and everyone is clamoring to work with her, but I think eXposed is the accomplishment she must be most proud of.
Anyway, the premier was sold out. At the cowboy-themed after party, (which was also packed to capacity as fans tired to catch glimpses of Dean and Marcus), the few minutes I was able to spend with Mr. Pam were dotted with countless interruptions of people spewing praise and awe upon her. Again, I forgot my camera but was able to snap this one photo (with Mr. Pam's camera, actually), and I think it pretty much sums her up: Smiling wildly and having her legs spread open by two of the hottest gay men in the world (in this case, Dean Phoenix and Diego De La Hoya).

Gay Pride 2005 Day 1: Porn Stars, Chi Chi, and Indy Film
This weekend in San Francisco was a pretty tough one for me. Aside from my mixed feelings about the event as a whole, with Gay Pride going on and there being several films debuting in the SF International LGBT Film festival that I couldn't miss, it was also my birthday. It was hard enough to juggle cabbing to all these events amid SF's tourist-soaked, gridlocked streets, let alone to remember to bring my camera to snap all the gay porn luminaries in town. But I tried my damnedest as it were and here are the pictures to prove it, starting with Friday ...
Mike and I kicked off the weekend Friday night at the second-annual Colt/Bel Ami Boys 2 Men fundraiser benefit for the Stop Aids Project. Representing Colt was Italian stallion Carlo Masi and uber-hunk Chris Wide, along with two new exclusive Colt Men, Luke Garrett and Gage Weston.
For the Bel Ami boy side of things, Tommy Hansen and Julian Armanis (my two favorites of the newest crop of Ami boys, seen here, with a female fan) were on hand along with Yves Carradine were on hand to mingle with the porn hoi polloi.
A faux-hawked Johan Paulik was also on hand filming, as was Club Channel1's handsome Rob Reimer.
Chi Chi was consorting with the millieau, too, seen here being bashful with Falcon's favorite son Matthew Rush.
The bling-adorned queen of porn was wearing earrings that spelled out "Chi Chi". Tres CHIc.
Elsewhere at the gala, Falcon Exclusive Dean Monroe was seen canoodling with dreamboat Filippo Romano (I exaggerate slightly -- maybe they were just talking).
Meanwhile across town at the Castro Theater was the premier of the much-anticipated Trannyshack documentary, which unfortunately I missed. Chi Chi whisked me, Mike, the lovely Violet Blue, Heklina and Squeaky Blonde to the t-shack afterparty in her limo (seriously), where we ran into Michael Soldier, who had much to celebrate. He stole the movie with his brilliantly executed funny-yet-poignant commentary. He's seen here puckering up for Gay.com's Lisa Bang's probing Polaroid. Success and critical acclaim are a slippery slope. The more famous you get, the more enemies you have and the more people will clamor for your downfall. NYC's reigning porn czar, Michael Lucas, wears his hubris on his sleeve. Maybe it's the language barrier, but whenever he opens his mouth he seems to piss someone off, sort of like gay porn's very own Howard Stern.
His newest outlet, his Blog, allows him to be outspoken about such heretofore verboten topics on an almost daily basis. Whereas in the past he could only touch upon taboos like a certain "uber agent's" drug peddling at public appearances and in press releases, now he can wax poetic on topics such as masculine hygiene on an almost daily basis. Love him or hate him, (or love to hate him) he's always entertaining to say the least.
Never one to rest on his laurels, his latest endeavor, "Michael Lucas' Dangerous Liaisons" is by far his most ambitious project to date. It eschews his normal all-sex, plot-light formula for an elaborate plot and dialogue-heavy script written by Tony Dimarco. While this isn't the first time that Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 classic Les Liaisons Dangereuses has been made into a gay porn -- technically first there was Odyssey's Carnal Intentions, which was based on "Cruel Intentions," which was based on "Dangerous Liaisons", but who's counting? -- it's certainly never been told in the porn sphere with such style (we're talking sets with real-live Barcelona chairs!) but I'll post a more thorough review of that later, for now, let's let's hear what Michael Lucas has to say for himself ...
So, what have you been up to lately?
I've been incredibly busy these past few months. My biggest and most ambitious project, Dangerous Liaison (the dirty version) is coming out today and the publicity around it has been incredible. I’ve been giving interviews to every reviewer and blogger and magazine. We’re also getting ready to start the filming “Fire Island Cruising 7,” production is set to begin in July and there’s a lot to do. Lucas Distribution (my second company), is now becoming a major player in the distribution arena and so that’s been taking up a lot of my time. To top it all off, I still perform all over the country and abroad. I've been to Florida six times in the past several months, I traveled to San Jose last weekend, and I just returned from Israel where I did a live sex show with Wilfred Knight (just voted the hottest porn star by Out magazine). I fucked him in one of Tel-Aviv’s hippest clubs. It was quite the show. “Auditions part 4” is about to be released and if that’s not enough to fill my schedule, I just launched a new website called Lucasblog.com were post commentary on a daily basis.

I get up at 6:30 AM on weekdays, and around 8:30 on weekends.

That said I do find that many are insecure and in constant need of attention.

What's next for you?
I'm moving into a new and bigger space in Midtown Manhattan which will be an adult entertainment factory. Something like Andy Warhol's. We have fifteen people on staff and it's getting claustrophobic. More importantly, I can afford it.

The Tough Love of LeatherBound
The USPS finally forwarded the mail from my previous address this weekend, resulting in a landslide of Christmas cards and porno. In addition to Michael Lucas' Manhattan Heat, Phil St. John's Czecki Friends and David del Dorado's Lust in Translation, I got COLT -- er, Buckshot's --latest release, LeatherBound.
The previous release from COLT Studio's Buckshot line, the award-winning Buckleroos, had a strong story and a cast that was handsome to the point of pretty. It was hard to see the connection between the cock-and-cuddle hit and LeatherBound -- a stern flick that dirty director Kristofer Weston promised would be a leather video made by-and-for leather men.
LeatherBound has plenty in common with its Buckshot sibling. Both movies make the spectacle of sex enjoyable on multiple levels. The story isn't central in Leatherbound, but the characterizations and situations fill in the narrative and set up the scenes. While Buckleroos unleashed a sprawling tale of best friends and lost loves, LeatherBound aims for a darker, but still remarkably friendly, mood. Buckleroos alum Dean Phoenix plays a leather virgin on his first trip to historic Mr. S. Leather store in San Francisco where the ever-charming Gus Mattox gives him more than a hand.
Jason Crew's turn as a human dildo is a real standout. Weston cloaks the stunner in a leather straight jacket and throws him to Troy Punk and Pierro Sias. The sexual anxiety is palpable -- Crew panics as he realizes he can't get his own nut -- and the situation becomes a source of agitated pleasure for the porn viewer who can indulge in the very same activity being denied Crew.
Sex in porn can feel like a fait accompli and the predetermined climaxes have as much life as a limp dick. The physical fear Crew exhibits heightens the sexual tension -- like in real life with public sex or adultery -- and makes the scene play more aggressively. It's a nipple twist of a set up that makes for an incredibly hot video session. As an encore, Crew unties himself and shoves his own turgid cock up his ass. It's a nice yin-yang ending to a scene fraught with conflict. And it's a terrific way to unlock your own nut.

Gay Porn Stars on Big Muscle
Some snarky peanut gallery comments on my Ethan Kage post by La Randy regarding Ethan and Matt Rush's Big Muscle profile made me realize: a lot of gay porn stars are using Big Muscle in lieu of (and sometimes in addition to) having a Web site.
I don't frequent that site much as I find it gives me a bad case of body dismorphia, but it is a great way to learn things about many of our favorite stars. For example: Marc Williams's real name is Melvyn (hot!). Zeb Atlas likes golf and an enquiring mind. 90's porn icon Damien Ford loves gardening and looks terrifying with blond eyebrows.

Ethan Kage: Meet Falcon's Latest
