Gay porn is a dirty business, no doubt about it. And who better to break the lid off the industry’s secret stink than gay porn muckraker Michael Lucas. Joey Stefano Auction, Continued

The Joey Stefano crappy gym clothes auction -- currently with three bids, at $51 -- gets weirder. I clicked view seller's other items and Mickey Skee's since put up Joey Stefano's pink, blue, and yellow dildos "kept hidden" by Karen Dior for "safe keeping" (adult verification required). Call me old fashioned but I like the things I stick up my ass to not have been up anyone else's -- dead or alive, Tsunami relief or not. Besides, I can think of some better ways to remember Joey.

Not to mention that a cursory scan of Mr. Skee's other auctions include some of the latest DVD release screeners. Tsk, tsk ... how could the famed "author/adult film historian" have reviewed them if they're still "factory sealed"? And if he's so hard up for money, how do we really know the proceeds are going to the Red Cross -- or that any of the items in question are authentic at all?

When I'm forced to mingle with people outside the gay porn world at dinner parties, weddings and the like, few things bring me more joy than the look in people's faces when I tell them what I do for a living. Regardless of who it is or how much shock they feign at first, everyone always wants to know what it's like to be on a porn set.

Meanwhile, Raging Stallion is taking perhaps a more modest approach with their (similarly named) "Paradise Exposed", which gives viewers an behind-the-scenes pass to the filming of their latest epic, Passport to Paradise (Currently it's available on the second disc of the two disc set).

Both are pretty fascinating and provide an unprecedented level of access to the behind-the-scenes goings-on of a porn movie. While Passport to Paradise shows us the full hardcore monty, COLT's "eXposed" eschews flesh to ask more serious probing questions (and provides some insight into the wonderful conundrum that is Mr. Pam, who shot, directed and edited it.)

Neither one is the first. In 2001, Kristen Bjorn released Behind the Curtain: The Making of Moscow, a feature-length "doc" about the making of Moscow: The Power of Submission (Hands-down my favorite Bjorn film and one of favorite porn films of all time). While Bjorn's provides plenty of jerk-off material in his making-of, don't expect it to ask (or answer) any of your pressing questions about his production.

Gay Porn Review: Mutiny (Dark Alley Media)

Mutiny: Shipmates Revenge is a pornographic revelation. It heralds a new day, and perhaps even a new genre: The Gay Porn New Wave. Whereas most art porn up until now used sex (or the promise of it) to force the viewer into being subjected to the director's (usually incredibly boring) discourse, Dark Alley Media's first release goes so much further. It delivers an in incredibly sexy movie while eschewing almost every porn convention.

Aesthetically, it picks up where Fallen Angel 4 left off, but probably succeeds in capturing the emotion of "Querelle" more than Titan's homage ever did. And the sex, in a way, is more intense. There's fisting, watersports, flogging, bondage, insane CBT, etc, but that's not what makes it so dirty. It's the nuance.

For example: while getting fucked, a crew member chews on a rusty pipe. Owen Hawk (who wrote and produced it,) licks a dusty ship wheel while fucking himself with a dildo . Matthew Green, playing the evil captain, forces a crew member to lick his boot while he steps on his face, all the while nonchalantly spewing orders at him, garbling his lines with a subdued mania that recalls Andrea Feldman in Trash.
