Parade Day
The Parade was lots of fun and the Sisters made a big splash, except on the TV coverage. When will TV coverage of the Parade get a clue?
The theme of the 2003 San Francisco LGBTQ Pride Parade was "Gotta Give 'Em Hope" and the Sisters said, "Gotta Give 'Em POPE!" Our theme was "Weapons of ASS Destruction" with George Bush riding a missile pointed at a nun's ass and a "U ASS HO Show" featuring Ethyl Merman. There are also shots from Pink Saturday, a party in the Castro organized by the Sisters the night before the Parade. (I have another gallery of cute guys from the Parade, too!)
I met up with some Sisters in the Castro for a few drinks. Talked with Tony Scalia about the sorry state of porn movies. He wants to see movies with bigger muscle guys and more plots. Whatever.
As it got near dusk, I went out whoreing again, this time at sex party for Mike's On Bikes (Before you ask, I don't know what Mikes on Bikes is all about. I think it's just a bunch of guys all named Mike that ride together in the Parade as an excuse to have sex later, I guess).

Two items of gossip. Mayoral candidate Gavin Newsom was nearly attacked while riding in the Parade when an angry group approached his car. The group was arrested before they reached him.
The first ever Pride Idol is not gay, lesbian, bi, transgendered, or questioning. She was upfront about being a hetero female right from the get-go. People are pissed about it, I haven't decided my opinion yet. What do you think?

Pink Saturday
So much to blog about from My Big Fat Pride Weekend, where do I begin!
"Party Monster" was FABULOUS! After this, there will be no doubt whatsoever that Seth Green is a gay as a goose. He was just too good. Beside the all star cast of Macaulay Culkin (Michael Alig), Seth Green (James St. James), Wilson Cruz (from "My So Called Life" played victim Angel Melendez), there were plenty of celebrity cameos, too: Lucy Liu (Alessandra), Marilyn Manson (Christina), Dylan McDermott (Peter Gatien), Diana Scarwid (who played Christina in "Mommy Dearest"), Chloe Sevigny, John Stamos ("Full House"), and Wilmer Valderrama (Fez from "That 70's Show").
Wilson Cruz and Wilmer Valderrama (Fez) were in attendance at the screening. Wilson Cruz has grown up to be quite the muscle papi standing there with his shirt wide open. Woof, but they didn't give him much of a part in the movie.
After the movie, I stepped out onto Castro Street while Pink Saturday was in full swing. It was lots of fun to people-watch and hang out with my Sisters. A stage was added up at 19th Street this year with live entertainment, and I got a few shots of Heklina and Cockatelia.
Instead of heading home at a decent hour to get up early for the Parade, I went out whoring till the wee hours. How many more Pink Saturdays can I still get away with that?

Nun and Strippers
This episode of the NakedSword Weekly Report is pretty good. Tonight is going to be a night that people will talk about for years. There's over-hyped club events every night of the week, but there's really a buzz about this one - so much buzz that even I am going.

Well the Forgotten Opera is tonight, and I'm plum exhausted. I just got in from working with our crew of volunteers decking out the space and I have to say it's pretty damn amazing that we're pulling off such a massive party in a grand total of four weeks. I'll write a post-event treatise, but for now just know that it's a miracle this party is happening in the first place.
LOTS of hot gossip. For those of you who know me, ask me when you see me about the liquor caterer drama. Let's just say I didn't have an ABC license or any event permits as of Tuesday because my prior liquor caterer pulled out with no explanation that day, and hasn't called me since. If it weren't for Mariah Hanson from Cherry bar stepping in as my booze supplier, and Supervisor Bevan Dufty and the San Francisco police department creating miracles in tandem to pull my permits, this would have never happened. Thank god for the cooperative cops at Southern Station.
The space looks absolutely incredible now, though. There are dozens of war banners down the central processional corridor, with 150 disco balls splayed across the 16,000 square foot expanse. Shields and spears stand sentry on the mezzanine overlooking the dance floor, with 40 mirrors, giant golden theatrical swags and golden Victoriana clustered past the main floor. And then there's Poo-henge: ten port-o-lets arranged in a circle on astroturf, hosted by a druid. I had the port-o-let company deliver one of them empty so we can have it knocked over as the fallen stone of Poo-henge. Not kidding. Santiago and Scott have done a really incredible job pulling together the look of the party. I've never seen an event look like this; the merging of a disco with the theatricality of the opera is pretty amazing.
Loads of folks have been asking me one question. No you don't have to come in costume, but you'll have a much more participatory good time if you do. Ticket sales have been rocking; we've sold 450 advance tickets (about 60/40 costume to non-), and the general rule of thumb is to quadruple that to get a good estimate of total attendance, but who knows. This is an odd one-off event. I'm expecting at least 1,000 people, but we'll see how many more than that we can get.
I've gotten some really amusing whacked out emails from total strangers asking to participate in interesting ways at the party. Had to turn down two snake dancers; I don't think it's cool to bring animals to a night club. And two wacky chicks called the "pony girls" wanted to bring a pony cart to the party and run around with it. Sorry ladies. Info for the Forgotten Opera's gone out on about every interesting email list in town. I think the viral process of dissemination of information is fascinating. San Francisco Opera sent it out to their 32,000 person list as well. It's gonna be a trip to see the mix of people there. I'm predicting a very Tales of the City evening. Pass the pitcher of mai tais. Now there's a dear.

Porn = Mob Connections?
In an article titled, "Internet Porn Tied to the Mob" posted on the Focus On Family web site, writer Terry Phillips aserts that $10 billion is spent annually on porn in the U.S., with $56 billion spent annually world wide, and that the porn industry has direct connections to the Mafia.
Quoting Jan LaRue, chief counsel of Concerned Women for America, "The structure is like a funnel, with small-time pornographers routing clients and money to big-time crime. Jan LaRue, chief counsel of Concerned Women for America, said best estimates are that at least 100,000 porn sites occupy space on the Web."
Ms. LaRue also claims, "Anybody in law enforcement that's worked in this area will tell you that you don't have any business in pornography without the permission of the Mob,"
Oh boy, there's a lot to comment about here.
First, I wonder if this "Jan" LaRue is related to Chi Chi LaRue? Chi Chi is certainly one of the "Concerned Women of America".
Second, where's MY cut of this $10 billion?
Third, didn't you see Godfather 2 or 3? The Italian "Mob" as we know it from movies and folklore has mostly died off or gone legit. What we have left is unstructured "Dis-Organized" crime involving completely different ethnic groups - Russians, Mexicans and black gangbangers that work mostly independently, not normally associated with the term "organized crime" or "THE Mob".
This is the only link I could find between porn and the Mob, "Goodfellas, Bad Fellas" from Pacific Sun, directed by Paul Baressi, a guy who maybe kinda looks like a mobster.
Fourth, the porn business really is a "business". It's not run by hit men and loan sharks, it's run by accountants, marketing types and geeks like me.
Finally, the same radical religious-right Focus on Family site is also promoting a book called the ""Wonderful World of Boys". I'll let you come to your own conclusions about that.

Internet Porn Tied to the Mob

Recent news reports reveal a connection between Internet porn and organized crime.
The already dark world of Internet pornography appears even darker to many, now that news reports have detailed the tie between the smut and organized crime.
The structure is like a funnel, with small-time pornographers routing clients and money to big-time crime. Jan LaRue, chief counsel of Concerned Women for America, said best estimates are that at least 100,000 porn sites occupy space on the Web.
"When you reduce them down, it appears that they're run by about twenty to thirty very large companies, and you can easily find ties to organized crime," LaRue said.
According to Glen Fradenburg of Bsafeonline, Inc., the income Internet porn generates dwarfs that of many legitimate industries.
"I think people feel pretty confident it's 10 billion dollars spent annually on porn, and that is larger than the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, all combined," Fradenburg said.
Ten billion is a conservative estimate. It may be three times that.
"That's just in this country," LaRue said. "It's been estimated at 56 billion dollars worldwide."
The World Wide Web, it would seem, is the perfect delivery vehicle for pornography, providing the perfect snare.
"The industry itself is out to make certain that, if you're on the Internet unprotected, they're going to every length to make sure you're exposed to it," Fradenburg said.
Trace the tendrils, and almost all sites lead into the criminal underworld.
"Anybody in law enforcement that's worked in this area will tell you that you don't have any business in pornography without the permission of the Mob," LaRue said.
That's reason enough to protect your computer and your family. The porn industry has lots of money to throw at bypassing filtering software. It hires the best technical experts to go to work on circumventing the newest filters.

Welcome to the 4TH Annual Cybersocket Web Awards ? the only event of its kind to honor the best lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender websites. Every year, numerous websites in each of the 30 different award categories are nominated for their achievements and innovations in the LGBT Internet market. At our annual Web Awards Show the winners are announced and presented with trophies. We feel that it is essential to honor these individuals and companies as being technological entrepreneurs, important agents of free expression and cultural change, and innovators in queer media and entertainment.
Sites are nominated on the basis of how well they fulfill their advertised missions, and for their usefulness, design, and uniqueness. You, the Web surfer, vote for your favorite sites in any number of categories. You choose and determine the winners. When voting, we encourage you to use your own subjective criteria in making your decisions, thus enabling you to send a clear message to webmasters and website developers that you may want more of some things and less of others.
There are several categories that reflect the adult side of the Web. If you are not comfortable with adult material, please skip those categories and vote in the ones that you enjoy, because every ballot counts!
Votes will be tallied as they are submitted and the winners in each category will be announced at the awards ceremony.

"I've been working in the sex field for over 20 years, predominately as a therapist. I've been involved in all sorts of sex education and sexual enrichment projects, so I thought it would be challenge to bring a fresh, healthier perspective to adult entertainment. I also write an on-line sex advice column, Ask Dr. Dick.
My commitment to this exercise is one of excellence through a fundamental sense of personal and professional ethics. We're doing projects that celebrate sexuality, not denigrate it. Daddy Oohhh! Productions wants to replace what has somehow gone missing from porn lately; the romantic, alluring and seductive aspects of sex. We are reaching out to the vast and underserved demographic, woman. While there is an explosion of sexually explicit material available, in print, video and on the Internet, very little of it is tailored to female tastes. We intend to remedy this by putting the playfulness back into sex play, and doing so with wit, style and a sense of humor. I assume that this will also strike a successful cord with gay and bi men. We've released five titles (exclusively as a DVD) and have other titles are in post production. You can find more information about this on our website.
Besides entertainment we are also doing sex education. We are preparing projects that will help people face and explore their sexuality after a life-threatening illness such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer. The sexual enrichment portion of our mission is to create helpful as well as witty "how to videos" for those who want to expand their sexual repertoire (anal sex, oral sex, SM, BD, etc). We are filming Dr. Dick's Guide to Sexual Intimacy, a series of Public Service Announcements based on my sex advice column.
We've launched a sister site to daddy oohhh, it's called JIZZ4.com. It's a membership on line magazine sort of deal. It has galleries, features, columns, erotica the whole enchilada. We like to think of it as Smut For the Thinking Man. We will be adding a live webcam to the mix later in the summer."

Throughout 2002 -- as their "Exclusive" -- I worked for Centaur Films, Falcon Studios and Regiment Productions with the studio's blessing. It was only when I decided to work for Hot Desert Knights that Raging Stallion decided to review their liberal policy for their "Exclusives" -- this per a recent announcement made by co-owner, Michael Brandon. I respect and understand Raging Stallion's desire to protect themselves as a company that advocates safer sex and -- again, per Michael's statement -- they have not ruled out employing me in the future productions as long as I follow company policy ...

The Amazing (Gay) Race
Finally a reason to watch another reality show. There's a lot of buzz about a gay "married" couple that are contestants on CBS's "Amazing Race". The photo on the left is a guy named Reichen, who with his husband Chip are burning up TV screens in homo households. However, there have been hints that the couple has broken up after the show ended. More as the story develops.
P.S.: A little confession: I should let you know I got this item and photo from Filth2Go, but I can't actually credit the photo because Billy Masters never said where he stole it! I think it's from Instinct Magazine, though. Thanks for keeping me on my toes, Billy!
